Mission

The Society for Women of Letters began as a small group of women scholars with a shared vision for building camaraderie and elevating the feminine voice in the Christian intellectual community. 

For Scholars:
The SWL is intentionally designed to be a collective effort; we welcome Christ-following scholars who are active in humane disciplines such as literature, philosophy, history, and theology. 

For Women: 
In addition, the society offers membership to all women who desire focused intellectual formation and fellowship with others who are seeking to glorify God through the life of the mind. 

For Christians: 
The SWL is ecumenical yet orthodox; we foster a “mere Christian” culture while defending essential and historic Christian doctrine.
